Kompass
Kompass is a mentoring platform for international schools guiding students toward university. It brings structure to the entire journey — from school admission and enrollment, through pathway and subject choices, to profile building and the final application. One shared workspace for admissions staff, mentors, and school leadership, fully trilingual in English, German, and Chinese.
Why Kompass exists
Guiding students toward university is a multi-year effort, and requirements differ from one destination country to the next. In many schools, the knowledge behind this work lives in spreadsheets, chat threads, and the heads of individual staff members. When someone leaves, years of experience walk out the door with them — while families expect professionalism and transparency at every step.
Kompass exists to keep that knowledge where it belongs: with the school. Structured, documented, and available to everyone who mentors students.
The journey
- 1
First consultation
A guided conversation, often before the student even enrolls: interests, strengths, and family expectations.
- 2
Pathway choice
Mentor and student narrow down the target region and education system, from the DACH region to the UK, US, or Australia.
- 3
Subject choices
Course selection aligned with the requirements of the intended pathway, so no door closes unnoticed.
- 4
Profile building
Extracurricular activities, projects, and language certificates, planned and documented over time.
- 5
Application
Deadlines, documents, and outcomes tracked in one place, through to enrollment.

What Kompass gives your school
Guided admission consultation
Kompass starts working before the student even enrolls. A guided ten-step consultation captures target countries, family priorities, and the student's strengths — and can be paused and resumed anytime. Entrance test results are recorded alongside, so nothing from that very first conversation gets lost.

One student, one complete file
Everything about a student lives in one digital file — education path, mentoring notes, milestones, profile building, target programs, and applications. Every note is tagged to a phase of the journey, building a complete timeline. When a mentor changes, the successor reads the full history in minutes.

Milestones that make progress visible
Each phase comes with checkable milestones and clear progress bars — per phase and overall. Mentors and school leadership share the same view, so every conversation about a student starts from the same picture.

A curated program database — plus your own
Kompass maintains a structured database of university programs and their admission requirements, covering the DACH region and beyond — UK, US, Australia. Schools add their own partner programs alongside. From both, each student builds a balanced target list: reach, match, and safety.

Applications under control
Every application gets its own log: status, deadlines, a document checklist, and the full history from preparation to offer. Upcoming deadlines surface automatically on the mentor's dashboard — nothing slips through.

A built-in knowledge base
The Mentor FAQ answers the questions that return every admission cycle — degree recognition, language certificates, application procedures. Mentors don't have to be experts in every country's rules: the expertise is built in, searchable, and it stays with the school.

Professional PDF exports for families
The mentoring work becomes tangible: student files, admission consultation reports, and entrance test results export as professionally formatted PDFs — in the language the family actually reads. That is what parents take home from a meeting.

One platform, three languages
Kompass is fully trilingual in English, German, and Chinese. Every user picks their own interface language — a mentor can work in Chinese while a colleague reads the same records in German or English. Statuses, categories, and the interface itself switch automatically. And PDF exports follow the same principle: families receive documents in the language they actually read.

Data protection by design
Kompass is hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) and built around GDPR-conscious data protection principles. Every school lives in its own isolated tenant — separation between schools is not a setting, it is enforced at database level. Access is role-based: mentors see only their assigned students, school leadership sees the whole school. And operational access is kept strictly limited.
What Kompass stands for
Mentoring across years rather than one-off counseling. Knowledge that stays with your school. Results families can hold in their hands. And a privacy-first European architecture.
